Find the recording you just heard

Where to see your answer

SongSpot shows the answer inside your game. Solve the round, or use the remaining clues until the final attempt ends: the result panel then displays the song title, artist, artwork, and an iTunes link for that recording. The game above lets you play and see this flow for yourself.

There is no single answer for today

SongSpot.dev runs are individual survival games. Players can choose different difficulties, artists, and markets, and do not all receive a common daily puzzle. A date-based answer list would therefore send many players to the wrong track. For an active round, finish that round and use its result panel as the source of the answer.

If you arrived from another site with a similar name, its puzzle and catalogue may differ. This guide describes the game on songspot.dev.

Reveal an answer step by step

  1. Play the current hint and search for a title you recognize.
  2. Check the artist in the suggestions before choosing a recording.
  3. If you are unsure, skip to hear more audio. Clues grow from 0.1 to 0.5, 2, 8, and 15 seconds.
  4. A correct answer ends the round. If the final clue is still unresolved, you lose a life and see the correct recording.
  5. Read the result before pressing Next song. Use the iTunes link to revisit the recording.

Why a familiar title can be wrong

Different artists can release songs with the same title, and alternate recordings can sound different. The search suggestions pair a title with an artist so you can check both. Focus on the voice, instrumentation, and production before submitting a guess. The audio comes from an iTunes preview, which may begin partway through the recording rather than at the start of the full song.

A wrong guess before the final stage unlocks a longer clue; it does not immediately cost a life. Use that new information to improve your next guess. The full game rules explain scoring, lives, and streaks.

Use missed songs as practice

After a miss, associate one concrete sound with the revealed title: a bass tone, a vocal pickup, or an unusual drum pattern. On your next run, that clue is more useful than memorizing an unrelated list of answers. There is no daily waiting period: see how to keep playing, or narrow your listening practice with the anime song quiz, rap quiz, or country quiz.
